Objective 3 3.1.2 Community Partnerships
Echo Hill Outdoor School in Worton, MD, the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center in Edgewater, MD and the Chesapeake Bay Foundation are used as community resources to enhance and expand outdoor environmental education at the elementary level. In addition to the immediate benefit of increasing students’ knowledge of the Chesapeake Bay ecosystem, the longer-term goal is instilling a sense of responsibility for protecting and preserving the environment.
Stacey Wildberger, President of the Cape Conservation Corps is assisting the Upper Elementary with the planning of their native pollinator garden.
Kevin Wengernuk, KW Landscaping, is our consultant for native plantings on our grounds.
